What is Hong Kong QMAS Visa?
Hong Kong QMAS is a quota-based scheme where you are awarded points for Age, Education, Language Proficiency, Work Experience, Dependents, etc. Hong Kong QMAS visa allows highly skilled and talented persons to immigrate to Hong Kong and contribute to their economy.

Who is eligible for the Hong Kong QMAS Visa?
Age : You must be 18 years or above.
Education : You must have a good education (Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree) from a recognized university.
Work Experience : You must hold at least 2 years of work experience.
Financial Requirement : You must have sufficient funds (5 lakh per person) to accommodate yourself and your dependents in Hong Kong.
Good Character : You must have a clear background history (no criminal record).
Language Proficiency : You must be proficient in written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) or English.
- Academic or General Training IELTS with a minimum overall 6 band is required.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 for the paper-based test, 213 for the computer-based test, and 80 for the internet-based test is required.

How to Apply for Hong-Kong QMAS Visa
To apply for Hong-Kong QMAS Visa, you must know the checklist of documents required to start your process. Find below checklist of documents required for QMAS:
- Filled & Signed Visa Application Form: Go to the below links to find your application forms.

All dependents added to the application must have to complete their form separately. - Copy of Valid Passport Copy containing personal particulars, nationality, residential status in your country of residence, date of issue and expiry, visa stamping, entry& exit stamps (if applicable)
You must also submit a passport copy of each dependent added to the application - Copy of Proof of Achievements: If you have got any appreciation certificate or achievements, you can add the same with your application for QMAS Visa.
- Copy of language proficiency proof: IELTS or language proficiency is not mandatory for QMAS Visa. But you have to submit it if it is asked by the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
You must also submit language proficiency proof if you are claiming language proficiency points for your spouse. - Copy of evidence to support future plan stated in the Visa Application Form of the main applicant.
- Copy of registration and/or membership certificate (if any): For instance, nursing registration is required for nurses willing to apply for QMAS Visa.
You must also submit the registration and/or membership certificate of your spouse. - Police clearance certificate (PCC) from country of residence and from each country where you have stayed for more than 6 months.
You must also submit the PCC certificate of your spouse. - Means of subsistence – Fixed Deposit/Bank statement showing a maintained balance in your saving account of 5 lakh or more for each family member.
- Proof of civil status – marriage certificate (if applicable) & birth certificate of the applicant and all family members added in the application
- Education Documents
- Certificate & Mark sheet of higher qualifications : Bachelor/Master
- Certificate & Mark sheet of High School & Intermediate
- Any other Certification & Diploma (as applicable)
- Employment Documents
- Current employer : Appointment Letter /Past 3 months’ salary slips/ Confirmation Letter/Promotion Letter/Appreciation Letter.
- Past employers : Experience Letter/Salary Slips of last 3 months/Appointment Letter/Confirmation Letter/Promotion Letter/Appreciation Letter.
- Income tax return/Form 16 for the past two years
You must also submit the education documents of each dependent added to the visa application
Reference letter from each employer clearly stating job duties you have performed in your employment along with your job position.
How to apply for Hong Kong QMAS Visa?
Below are the steps by step process to apply for QMAS Visa :
Step 1 : Meet Eligibility Requirements : Check out the basic eligibility requirements before you apply for QMAS Visa.
Step 2 : Check the Guidance Notes : You must refer to the guidance notes before you apply for Quality Migrant Admission Scheme ID(E) 982 carefully.
Step 3 : Fill out Visa Application Form : You must complete the visa application form for yourself and your dependents.

- For dependents, you must fill out this form ID 997
Step 4 : Submission of application : Gather all the supporting documents and submit them to the Hong Kong Immigration Department.

Step 5 : Payment of fee Once your application is approved by the Hong Immigration Department, a notification will be sent to you with the application result including a webpage link for payment.
You could make this payment via GovHK website or the ImmD Mobile Application by credit cards or Payment by Phone Service (PPS). After making the payment, you could download or print the “e-Visa” by yourself.
